JANUARY - FEBRUARY
FOLLOW OUR GUIDES OUT INTO THE WILD NATURE OF BERGSLAGEN TO TRACK LARGE PREDATORS
WHAT IS PREDATOR TRACKING?
When the snow falls, a new world opens up and you are invited to experience the secrets of the forest.
Finding a lynx shelter on a frozen woodland lake or studying the tracks of a wolf family that has marched along a forest road is really special. All of a sudden, fresh snow takes on a whole new meaning and if you previously thought that winter’s not your favourite season might change your mind.
Learn how to tell the difference between lynx and wolf tracks.
We move in the wolves' and lynx's homelands where the focus will be mainly on these two predators, but all tracks are of interest and will be studied. We’ve observed wolverines in the area, so who knows who’s tracks we’ll find.
DAY TOUR, 08:00 - 16:00≈
We meet at the agreed place at 09.00 and go out into the woods together where we make a fire and have some fika.
In the meantime, the guide informs about tracking during the winter season, ethics, practical books and tools.
You will also be assigned a tracking field guide, which you will get to keep.
Then we go out into the fields to find out who’s been wandering the wood lands during the night.
We will move both by car and foot during the day.
At 12.00 we will grill hot dogs and have warm beverages before we continue the day.
The tour ends at dusk, 16.00
